Things to do in Edinburg, Tx

This awesome 90-acre park has got it all: 6 softball/baseball fields, 3 soccer fields, 5 playgrounds, a 1.5-mile walking/jogging trail, 2 open court multi-purpose pavilions, 42 picnic tables and BBQ pits, 2 lakes for fishing and canoeing, an equestrian trail, a rollerblade trail, an ATB bike trail, and a 1-mile nature track.

The Museum of South Texas History is actually in Edinburg, Texas. It's got some really cool exhibits on the history of the Rio Grande Valley, as well as the rest of South Texas and even the North Eastern Mexican States of Coahuila, Nuevo Leon, and Tamaulipas. The museum now owns more than a whole city block, right there on the square in Edinburg. It opened up back in 1970 as the Hidalgo County Historical Museum.

In March 2003, the Edinburg Scenic Wetlands and World Birding Center became the first of nine World Birding Centers to open. This awesome center is situated on 40 acres within a city park, right near the heart of the City of Edinburg. It's built on reclaimed farm-fields and is nestled next to the city's effluent and floodwater ponds. The Center is like a wildlife showcase, a natural habitat right in the middle of an urban setting. So cool!
